The European Tailwind
eu-tailwind is an independent record of the fundraises and the investors fueling Europe's rise. Every week the continent ships another reason to pay attention, and we are here to keep count.
About the publication
Every week, European founders raise real money from real funds to build real companies. Foundation models in Paris, defense tech in Munich, chips in the Netherlands, climate hardware in Stockholm. The continent is compounding, quietly and then suddenly, into its next generation of giants. That is the story eu-tailwind exists to tell, and there is more of it than almost anyone is counting.
Most of it surfaces, if it surfaces at all, as a press-release footnote. We think the more interesting thing is almost always the structure underneath the number: who wrote the check, why now, and what it quietly says about where the smart capital actually believes the value is. Capital is belief made concrete, and right now a great deal of belief is being put to work in Europe.
We are here for the people who already see it, and want the receipts. Not cheerleading, reporting. The named companies, the exact figures, the funds backing them, and an argument about what it all means.
What we cover
A running record of European rounds, newest first: the company, the backers, the founders, and a link to the original report. The raises that signal where the next generation is being built.
The funds and angels writing the checks, ranked by what they have actually backed. Following the money is the fastest way to read conviction, and conviction is the story.
The pieces that step back from any single round to make a case: why a sector is heating, why a city is suddenly on the map, why the pessimist consensus keeps mispricing the continent.
Editorial principles
Real companies, real rounds, real sources. No invented founders, no invented quotes, no rounded-up numbers passed off as fact. If we cannot point to where a claim comes from, it does not run.
Skeptical of hype, affectionate toward the people doing the hard part. We will tell you when a round looks more like a markup than a milestone, and we will tell you when something genuinely matters.
The headline number is rarely the actual story. The actual story is usually one layer down, in the cap table, the timing, or the thing nobody is saying out loud.
No fund owns us, no portfolio agenda steers us, and no sponsor buys a kinder read. The reporting answers to the reader and to the record, nothing else.
Filed by eu-tailwind Exclusive. Independent reporting on the rise of European tech, for the builders, the backers, and the believers. If that is the story you want told, you are in the right place.
